• Obtaining $60M jury verdict on behalf of FDIC in a fraud case concerning sub-prime pools of equipment leases
• Prosecution of $500 million fraud claims on behalf of a European bank against two large U.S. banks relating to a foreign exchange rogue trading scheme
• Representation of AJW Master Fund and related insolvent funds in claims against former auditor, leading to significant appellate victory and then a confidential settlement
• Representation of Fletcher Income Leveraged Fund and related insolvent funds in claims against their former auditors and administrator, leading to confidential settlements
• Represented derivative plaintiffs in breach of fiduciary and related claims under Cayman Islands laws against insiders of Renren, a Chinese technology and investment company. Case resulted in landmark settlement of at least $300 million — one of the largest derivative recoveries in history — and set important jurisdictional precedents establishing the right of aggrieved minority shareholders to derivative standing under Cayman law and holding foreign individual and corporate defendants accountable for wrongdoing and fraud in U.S. courts.

Jeffrey Gross is a partner in the New York office of Reid Collins & Tsai LLP. Jeff has represented clients in a wide variety of high-stakes, complex commercial litigation through trial. He appears in federal and state courts and arbitrations across the country representing plaintiffs in professional-liability litigation, including legal and audit malpractice, financial-fraud-based litigation, and insolvency-related disputes.

Jeff often represents the victims of financial fraud, including corporations, hedge funds, and private equity funds. Many of Jeffâs clients are in insolvency proceedings, and so his representations include working on behalf of court-appointed trustees and receivers. Jeff is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), as well as the ABAâs Trial Practice Committee.

Jeff received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an Arthur Littleton Legal Writing Instructor. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar.

Jeff was also recently named to the 2024 Edition of the 500 Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyers in America.
